Vet Check

A comprehensive clinical examination

Our equine vet check is a thorough clinical assessment performed by an experienced equine veterinarian to evaluate a horse’s general health and soundness. This examination includes a detailed evaluation of the eyes, body symmetry, heart and circulatory system, gastrointestinal tract, skin and coat (integument), conformation, blemishes, and the musculoskeletal system.

A lameness assessment is highly recommended and involves observation at walk and trot in hand, flexion tests, and movement on the lunge in both directions, ideally on both hard and soft surfaces.

Additional diagnostics, such as radiographs (X-rays) and blood tests, can be arranged upon request or following consultation.

A written report summarising the findings is provided to the person who requested the vet check after the examination.

Please note: While this examination is essentially the same in structure and thoroughness as a pre-purchase exam, it is not legally classified as a pre-purchase examination. It is intended to give a detailed overview of the horse’s current health and condition but does not carry the formal legal status or guarantees of a pre-purchase evaluation.

This service offers valuable insights and professional guidance, whether you're assessing a horse before purchase or simply wanting a detailed overview of its health and soundness.
