Heifer teat sealing

Teat sealing dramatically reduces risks.

Teat sealing your heifers in the dry period, ideally done at least four weeks prior to the planned start of calving, dramatically reduces the risk of heifer mastitis, light quarters, teat canal thickening and being culled, both early and late in lactation. Unlike cow dry-off or sealant jobs, there are key focus preparation practices when it comes to heifer teat sealing.

We offer:

  • Qualified and trained staff to complete the job using best practice techniques
  • Discussion for preparation with a vet – including our preparation guide and tips for a safe, successful visit
  • Training for clients to perform teat sealing
  • Teat scoring
  • Body condition scoring
  • Trace mineral testing during transition period.
