Dental Care

Early and regular dental treatment is much easier and cheaper than major dental surgery.

Maintaining dental hygiene is essential in our canine and feline friends to prevent painful tooth issues in the future. Dental disease is also linked to disease in other parts of the body such as heart endocarditis and liver inflammation.

What happens if my pet needs dental treatment under anaesthetic?

Most dental procedures for dogs & cats require anaesthesia for safety and comfort.

Before surgery

  • Full health assessment to ensure anaesthesia is safe.
  • Blood or urine tests are recommended to check for kidney, liver, and other health issues.

Dental procedure

  • Mouth fully examined, and a dental chart created.
  • X-rays may be needed to assess teeth before extraction.
  • Loose, broken, or diseased teeth are removed—some require surgical extraction with stitching.
  • Procedures include tooth extractions, scaling, and polishing.

Comprehensive dental care

  • We also provide dental checks for rabbits, guinea pigs, and rodents!
  • Let us help keep your pet’s teeth healthy & pain-free!
