Desexing
Ensure your pet receives the best care during desexing
- Our modern surgical theatres and advanced technology ensure your pet receives the best care during de-sexing. All pets undergo a complete clinical examination, and blood tests are recommended.
- We monitor heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, and oxygen levels throughout surgery for safety.
- We provide morphine-based pain relief at the clinic and send painkillers home for comfort.
- We provide follow-up care and wound checks 5 days after surgery to ensure proper healing.

Neutering male dogs
Neutering is a low-risk procedure that helps with population control, health benefits, and behavioural improvements. It requires one day in the clinic, followed by 4-5 days of rest.
Key benefits
- Reduces aggression towards other male dogs
- Increases focus by minimizing distractions from pheromones
- Prevents testicular tumours and some anal cancers
- Decreases roaming behavior
- Lowers the risk of hernias and urinary issues.
Speying female dogs
Speying is a more involved procedure but offers lifelong health benefits. We recommend speying dogs after their first heat cycle. It is best to perform the surgery >4 weeks either side of a heat to reduce the complication risk. After surgery, rest is essential—one day in the clinic, followed by two weeks of recovery.
Key benefits
- Prevents uterine infections and breast tumours
- Stops heat cycles and related behaviours
- Reduces unwanted attention from unneutered male dogs
- Helps prevent mounting behaviours.
Kitten desexing
- Kittens should be desexed when they are >4 months old and weigh at least 1 kg.
- Females – Prevents unwanted pregnancies & reduces mammary cancer risk.
- Males – Reduces roaming, fighting, abscesses & FIV (feline AIDS) spread.
Why desexing matters
- Unspeyed pets can reproduce rapidly, leading to thousands of unwanted kittens and puppies in just a few years. Many suffer from malnutrition and disease or end up in overwhelmed rescue groups. Sadly, too many animals are euthanised due to a lack of homes.
- The only way to reduce overpopulation is through responsible de-sexing.
- Help be part of the solution—book your kitten’s de-sexing today!
