Ruth joined The Vet Centre in 2015, after returning from 24 years in the Middle East with her family. Her professional journey there included roles in hospitals and veterinary clinics as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) and Veterinary Nurse. Working a mixture of hours, she loves teamwork and variety, along with challenges that go from caring for a day-old kitten to end-of-life care. Animals are her passion, and she is deeply committed to animal welfare and community involvement.

Ruth's home life is a busy lifestyle block growing olives and fruit trees and raising sheep, beef and chickens to run with an extra generous collection of cats and dogs. Perched on the edge of the Kaipara Harbour, her family is honoured to share its property with the many rescues and visitors that come their way.
