Our Ruawai Clinic
Our westernmost clinic the name Ruawai translated from Maori means 'two waters' referring to the nearby Northern Wairoa River and Kaipara Harbour.
Over 100 years ago the area was known as the Tokatoka Swamp, until in the 1890's the Government of the day saw its potential and made a decision to develop a drainage system of stopbanks, floodgates, canals and drains. At the time, one hundred men with spades and shovels were put on the job. Today the Ruawai Flats have been transformed into productive dairy and kumara-growing farmland. Ruawai is the self-proclaimed Kumara capital of the world.
Our team of vets and support staff meet the production animal needs of the large number of dairy farmers in the area. We also provide comprehensive care for our pet and equine clients, ensuring they live their best lives. You are welcome to pop in to meet the team and purchase everything you need for your farm, lifestyle block, pet or horse.
